Surrey County Council and BT will next month be publishing the timetable for bringing superfast broadband infrastructure to those Surrey communities not included in the commercial roll-out. Since the County Council and BT signed the groundbreaking contract, engineers have been carrying out detailed survey work to finalise the deployment schedule over the next two years.
The new Superfast Surrey website will be publicly released on 21st February and will give residents and businesses the opportunity to find out how and when they can get access to fibre optic broadband.
Michael says:
“This is fantastic news, as I am sure many of my constituents yearn for access to superfast and reliable broadband. I know that Surrey County Council is equally enthusiastic about this project, and will want to implement it as speedily as the promised broadband!”
Over the next two years, Surrey County Council will be working with national and local partners, as well as communities and business groups across the county, to maximise the potential of having consistent and reliable access to broadband. They will be providing information via various channels, including their new website, to inform the public when each area will have access to the new superfast broadband infrastructure, how they can sign up to it and how they can make the most of the technology.
