Michael Gove, MP for Surrey Heath, has been continuing to receive complaints from constituents across Surrey Heath that Royal Mail is failing to deliver post on a regular basis.
Since the beginning of 2023, Michael has written to Royal Mail on numerous occasions to raise concerns about infrequent and sporadic mail deliveries, with complaints from constituents from Camberley, Old Dean, Frimley, Frimley Green, Mytchett, Deepcut and Tongham.
Royal Mail has responded previously that they are experiencing issues due to high levels of staff sickness which has led to disruption to deliveries, but Michael remains concerned that residents are still being affected by a poor service.
On 4 August 2023, Michael wrote again to Michael Hogg, Senior Public Affairs Manager at Royal Mail, to express his concerns about the ongoing situation, and requested a meeting as soon as possible.
Michael commented:
‘Having received many complaints, including the non-delivery of extremely important paperwork, I am anxious to find out from Royal Mail why the problem of infrequent deliveries persists. I very much hope that a meeting with Royal Mail will help to get to the bottom of the issues and ensure a better service for my constituents.’
