Michael Gove, MP for Surrey Heath, visited Woking Hospice shop in Bagshot on Friday. Michael met the staff and volunteers behind the charity and was given the opportunity to do some volunteering himself. He was steaming and sorting donated clothing, and serving customers at the till.
Michael explained “Woking Hospice do an amazing job, and they could not provide this care without the wonderful support of all their volunteers in their shops. The 17 Hospice shops in the area offer bargains galore and are well worth a visit. It’s been a privilege to help those that are so willing to help others.”
Shop Manager, Tony Dawes added “Thank you to Michael Gove and his assistant, Frances for highlighting the work of our retail shops and spending time to meet some of our volunteer team.”
Michael was also presented with a DVD that has been produced with real life experiences of children and young adults attending the Hospices Bereavement Support Groups.
