'Made By Britain' has been developed as a collaboration between the Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group, and the 1851 Royal Commission: an organisation with a long and distinguished career in supporting British industry.
The project is designed to address the reputation problems facing the manufacturing sector. All 650 MPs have been asked to find a product that is manufactured in their constituency today. The objective is to draw up a diverse and comprehensive picture of contemporary British industry.
Michael Gove MP, has nominated a product made by Bisley. Michael said, “I have nominated the Classic 5 Drawer by Bisley as it is characterised by high quality design, engineering and manufacture. Its creator, Bisley, is one of Europe’s leading steel storage manufacturers and its history can be traced back to the 1930’s. Bisley currently employs nearly 1,000 people and its intensive research and development programme means that is it at the forefront of new thinking about storage in the workplace.”
