On 24 April 2017, Michael Gove MP hosted a visit from schoolchildren and teachers from Carwarden House Community School, Upper Chobham, Camberley. They were welcomed at the Parliamentary Education Centre, a world-class education facility which was newly opened by Professor Brian Cox in 2015. The students added to their tour of Parliament with the augmented reality experiences offered by the Parliamentary Education Centre. Michael then spoke to the group for about twenty minutes, and gave an insight into life in Parliament.
Michael says, βIt was great to welcome the children to Parliament, and to answer their questions about the democratic process. I explained about the ups and downs of life as an MP, and how I am campaigning on behalf of local people on a variety of issues. They also asked me what I would have liked to have done had I not been an MP β I said I would have liked to have been a teacher, and explained why teachers always inspired me to do my best with the opportunities which came my way!β
